This was a long ass show but it was so worth it. I mostly came to see Schmooze but was pleasantly suprised at the very talented groups that came before them.
First was Getaway Company. I remember it being calming/soothing to listen to (even though its hard rock). And the singer was very good, his voice was amazing. Trvy & the Enemy is another local hiphop band. I wasn't expecting to love them so much but I was getting down the whole time. I don't know anything about rap lyricism but Trevors vibes were locked in. And they also cultivated a safe space with his message. This is what I love about local shows.
I coincidentally went to this show with my international grad student roomate who happened to listen to the same music i do! She was most excited for Added Colors. I didn't know anything about them but I'm so glad I was there. Their music was beauitful. They were more gothic than the other bands so I really enjoyed them.there was this one time where the lead pulled up his skirt thing and showed his thigh and I felt like a victorian man seeing an ankle. I liked them a lot!
The last band was Schmooze and they were everything I hoped for. I loved their original music but they also played a cover of Teenage Dirtbag which i thoughouly enjoyed. People were finally two stepping at this point of the show. I'm pretty sure the singer went to my highschool and was 2 years above me. Small world for real. I really look up to her.
I've recently had a revival of my musical life after it being fully stifled by engineering school. I did actually being learning guitar for real. I want to be great just like these performers. I miss the stage. Even though I havent been on a stage in years, during every local show I'm within arms distance with the beautiful performers that I want to be. Maybe one day I will finally be in their place
coming soon
This show was run by UGA stuends in the music business program, which includes my roomate!! She invited me and im so happy i went, it was a really great lineup of local bands. I vibed hard with all of them and I can't even choose a favorite because they were all different genres. And the show was only $5 so worth it fr.
I came a little late so I didnt hear all of Writhe's set, but as i walked in I was just flooded with sludge metal and it was beautiful. This was the first time ive heard metal live and now I think metal is best in person. But yea they were really good and I wish I heard more. Unfortunately I didnt get a single good picture so just imagine 3 really cool guys on a stage.
The next band was North Ave. They played some really sweet songs and some covers. I wished I brought my boyfriend to the show so we could dance together. North Ave was actually a country band which is not too much my vibe, but I think theres a quality of live music that made it sound more appealing to me. it was a huge contrast to the previous set but it was very welcome. And their voices were on point
im realizing i suck at taking pictures
The final band was Crimson Fever. They had so much charm in their indie sound and I didn't want the set to end. They were having so much fun on stage. The drummer's gf was screaming for them it was so cute. My favorite song ended up being Old Pictures, it was really fun live. Made my day fr
i will definetly try to get better photos next time T_T
Some more details, this was a group project in my roomate's music business class. She was operating the lights and it was really cool seeing her do smth she loves. I never thought about what goes on behind the scenes to put on a show so shoutout my roomate
Me and my friend got there early enough to be on the barricade! I was very happy since I'm so short i wouldnt be able to see at all if I wasn't at the front.
Before Vision Video, Tears for the Dying came on to open. My favorite song was Keiju , and they also played a cover of Jolene and it was beautiful!!!. I've seen them perform before so I was screaming like a fangirl. AND THEN MY FRIEND GOT HANDED AN AUTOGRAPHED SETLIST
Ive been listening to Vision Video since 2022. My favorite song is Inked in Red. Ive seen them preform before also, but I was still breathtaken by their sound. Between each song, they explained the politics behind all their lyrics. It reminded me why I began to love alternative music in the first place. I felt so safe and accepted.
I also got to show them my cat and they said she was adorable. I love cats...
Along with their original songs they also played a cover of Just Like Heaven. It went crazy. The club was TURNTTTTT
so ya highlight of my summer.
