If I had a nickel for every time a show did a reveal of the true world being nazi germany, i would have 2 nickels (fma 2003 did this, and I liked that ending so maybe thats why I dont mind this one).

I do like unorthodox endings. I actually prefer the 2003 fma ending because it didn't make sense for me to see them get a happy satisfying ending. So when I finished attack on titan I was, pleasantly, in absolute shambles. After the initial heartbreak, I began to engage with the community and was suprised to see the vastly conflicting interpretations. I think this has to do with the fact that I sped through seasons 3 and 4 extremely fast because it was so capitavating, but it didnt have time to cook in my brain.

anyways, I thought the ending was beautifully written. I interpreted Eren's paradoxical rationalization of the rumbling to mean that while he could have stopped himself, he ultimately didn't have the willpower to let go of the power to destroy the world. (especially with ymir right there beside him to enact her own revenge.) Because if I saw that in the near future I would be the sole person to wipe out 1 billion people i would just fucking kill myself. or atleast check in to a hospital.

Many people believe that the story has fascist undertones that justify eren's actions. I understand where this comes from but I don't think it is the case. If this were true, they would not have dedicated time to show Ramses. They also showed how conflict quickly resumed throughout human history. As Ewrin clearly alluded to by saying conflict will never end, the story showed how all those human lives lost were for absolutely nothing.

I also theorize that Paradis would have been fine without the rumbling, mostly because of the inclusion of Onyonkapon. His nation was among those colonized and brutalized by Marley. And if this world is anything like ours, global alliances are unstable and do not last. It would've been childs play (compared to the rumbling) to get the nations that hated Marley 2 months ago to turn against them again. But that would require hope and willpower, which Eren does not have.

the marleyans and my hatred for zeke

unfortunately, i found myself unnattached to the marleyan warriors and candidates. Especially Zeke. Zeke's mentality is so common among oppressed peoples, which shows the masterful writing of this story, but its a mentality that I, as a leftist, despise so much that his face makes me physically sick. This is how i feel about zeke iykyk:

and for the rest of the warriors and candidates...i couldnt give a fuck if i tried. Reiner's character is pretty interesting but that doesn't make me like him. I was dissapointed when Gabi DIDNT get stabbed to death by Niccolo, but i forgave her when she SNIPED eren. she got skills i cant deny. Falco was fine ig. Annie was fine ig, she wants my man tho so shes my opp. Who even is Porco fr. Birth control looked sad getting eaten ig. I think im like this because im just too set in my beliefs about oppression to give them any sympathy. I know they were brainwashed but I feel like seeing one guy die is enough to radicalize the brainwashing out of child. This also must be why I'm able to give Armin more sympathy as well. His actions are heinous but they are for the good of his people, not for the good of the opressor.

drabble about the online (tiktok) community

after some time in the community, ive been absolutely gagged to see how many people enjoyed watching the rumbling. I imagine self proclaimed jaegerists rejoice when watching that little kid get his head crushed.

They fully believe that killing the entire world, 2 billion people, was the only option. I think the biggest reason for this misconception is that people od not know what an unreliable narrator is or how they impact the narrative. They take all of Eren's words and Armin's narration at face value and dont bother - dont believe it is even valid - for the audience to critically think of optimistic solutions to the Marleyan racism problem other than global genocide. a sad sad community bro.
